We The People

"Now more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature ... If the next centennial does not find us a great nation...it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces."
-James Garfield, 1877

Those words were spoken by James Garfield upon the centennial of our nation's fight for independence. As King Solomon would say, there is nothing new under the sun. In 2013, this great Republic is again at a perilous crossroads, engaged in a full-on assault of the values and virtues upon which this nation was founded.

This so-called culture war has us bowing to the lowest common denominator; no longer is hard work and intelligence rewarded. Instead we are chastised for pursuing excellence, being told it is not fair because not everyone can achieve this same excellence. Last time I looked, we all have the same opportunities to achieve great things. That is what is great about America: equal opportunities for all and rewards for hard work and determination.

In today’s society, success is equated with domination, and capitalism is all of a sudden, an ugly word. We are in the age of the low-information voter, who seems to assess the viability of a candidate in terms of what’s in it for me rather than what is good for the country.

The very foundations of family are being redefined thanks to the enemy from within our own borders. We insist on electing those who are sympathetic to the latest assault on family, all in the name of so-called “gay rights” with regard to marriage or “free-choice” for women.

The future of our Republic is in the hands of We the People. Will we continue to bow to the lowest common denominator or will we battle those political and social forces that seek to redefine the morals of this country? Will we boldly contend for what is righteous even though we may be outnumbered right now or will we sadly throw up our hands and give in to those forces that seek to destroy this great nation?

Murder by Liberals: The Progressive Party of Death

The trial of Kermit Gosnell is yet another example of the hypocrisy of the Party of Death. The Pro Choice - Gun Control - Thought Control - Worship Obamamaniac legions consider themselves the elite ruling class who speaks for all Americans world citizens. What are we hearing from the Party of Death? Hear that? Wait for it...yes, crickets.

Adam Lanza commits the unthinkable in Newtown and the Party of  Death is all over the media with cries for gun control. The outcry over sexual abuse by priests or teachers gets wall-to-wall media coverage. Where is the outcry and the outrage by these hypocrites over the savage acts committed at the hands of Gosnell and his minions? To those of us who do choose life, we are just as sickened and saddened by what this man has done as we were when news broke about the murders in Newtown. We are just as sickened and saddened by the choices that are made each and every day by women who choose to abort murder their babies as we are by any cold blooded murderer who terrorizes a college campus or a movie theater. For those of us who choose life, there are no distinctions between these acts or the people who have committed these acts.

That does not hold for the Party of Death who views abortion as a woman's choice rather than murder. So I guess it should not be so surprising when the media outlets are silent on the Gosnell trial. It is counter to the Party of Death's right to choose. Why the outrage by these hypocrites over Newtown and silence on the murder of babies who dies at the hands of Gosnell the butcher?

How can anyone be proud to support such hypocrisy and pretend to care about other human beings? How low will this nation and the world be allowed to go when a so-called enlightened society such as ours sees nothing wrong with the murder of innocent babies yet screams for gun control over what happened in Newtown?

It is evil, no matter how you try to explain it away. It is no different than ancient cultures who sacrificed children to appease whatever god that culture worshiped. How can any intelligent human being think it is OK to support abortion and in the same breath believe capital punishment is wrong? How do you justify the slaughter of babies and call it a woman's choice?

It's called hypocrisy.

Leadership: Doing What's Right, Not What Is Popular

Leadership involves doing what is right, not what is popular, and we can learn much from the leadership of Ronald Reagan and Winston Churchill.

Ronald Reagan referred to the Soviets and Communism as the Evil Empire, a term for which he was very much criticized. But he did not care that the media did not share his belief in calling the Soviet Union for what he saw they were. Even Reagan’s own advisers cautioned him to dial down the tone of his speeches, but Reagan stood firm.

Perhaps the greatest example of right vs. popular can be seen in reverse when it comes to Churchill;  in 1950, Churchill was selected as Time magazine’s “Man of the Half- Century.” In 1999, Churchill did not make the list for Time’s “Person of the Century”. It was determined that Churchill was not really that great and he was actually more of an idealist who really did not have very admirable views of individual rights or civil liberties and who just happened to live on the wrong side of history.  What was considered courageous back in the early 1900’s is apparently no longer so because these same convictions are not popular.

Reagan and Churchill faced personal danger in the form of physical attacks while they were in public office. There was no amount of danger that would prevent either of them from continuing to lead their people. In fact, I happen to think they both would laugh at that entire notion. They were not afraid to make the ultimate sacrifice, if necessary, in order to see their vision and mission to the end. It seems to be a message that we lose in today’s society, where being popular, safe, and keeping one’s self from harm win out over standing up for what we believe in.

We should learn from the past and the lessons of other nations who have fallen due to lack of courage and conviction, all for the sake of not rocking the boat or "offending" others.

Appeasement and appealing to the masses is not leadership; it's cowardly and lazy. We need real leaders.

The Ever Changing Language of The Left

Remember when "global warming" was the cause du jour of the Left? It has been abandoned in favor of "climate change" instead.

Or how about "gay marriage"? It is now referred to as "same-sex marriage".

There was a time when one would be accused of  simply being "intolerant" of other people's viewpoints when disagreeing with them, but now it is labelled as "hate speech".

Feminism gave rise to women's rights which gave rise to gender equality. Go figure.

And now we have "gun control" in the forefront of the media. And this is what should be called Unconstitutional.

But you'll never hear that in the news.

Yes, the ever changing language of the left is really a slow erosion of our individual liberties and freedom of choice. And far too many Americans have been too lazy or apathetic to fight.

The sleeping giant has been awakened.
